Through the summer, too hot to sit out in the sun drawing… had in mind what more I could do with the street sketches. Or maybe less. I wasn’t satisfied with where they were going…or not going. Maybe I’ll play with some of them I did earlier… see what happens
Textures. Tone. It’s not the city as it is that I’m after… it’s the city as it is and something else. The city of imagination.

Preparing for the A-Space show–giving a lot of thought to how I want to organize it. My work tends to migrate toward these broad, thematic areas–I hope to make this clear in my arrangements. I want to help people see what I’m doing, without overcoded interpretations.
ASSEMBLAGES
Arrangements of Found Things, street trash, dirt, broken glass—the detritus of Late Capitalism—discarded identities in search of new relationships.
FAERIE TREES
Human Arboreal Intercourse
Urban Street Sketching.. Have to think of these like visual Journal Entries. I ran out of time.. onlookers interrupted me… (don’t happen often) Not a good effort, but I’m working on a couple of paintings now… building on these. I need (1) to work on drawing cars! and (2) work on techniques and experiment with materials for much rougher, quicker studies. Fine pen is good for quick studies only at small scale, or finishing at home.
