This image, as it is on my device, is wonderful. That pavement leans toward sap green and cool gray and with the rusty ochre of the most incredible shape it makes me happy to see. Also, that others find the beauty in our decomposing world feels comforting.
The detritus of our decomposing world… has long captured my eye’s imagination. My return to making visual art , after a detour of some 40 years, began by making assemblages of scraps of trash found on the street. I did a series on patterns of broken pavement… the beauty we miss beneath our feet.
Out of the detritus of the old, may we build a new and better world.
