Pretty stuff I post (art), gets some likes–some of it, a lot. The work I’m most happy with… not so much. Fuck that. It’s not a popularity poll. Maybe the eyes I see the world through are better than yours!

  1. that is the artist’s dilemma I think Jacob. not all will ‘see’ or get, what we are trying to show. the frustration can be, well, you know. 90% of my own personal favs – get overlooked. ‘too abstract’ or too….
    But, I just read a quote by Mark Rothko I like so much I may post it. part of the quote is, “It is Risky to send it out into the World. How often it must be impaired be the eyes of the unfeeling and the cruelty of the impotent.”

  2. Thanks for the reminder, Debi. And maybe what one sees isn’t there yet–a vision that the painting woke in mind, pointing the way to the next painting.
