I’m wondering what to do with those gray areas (that’s the gesso ground–I add black cause I don’t like working on white ground). For tonal balance, about right–and keep the busyness where I’ve built up colors–which are almost all much darker… so the neutral gray works… but whether a warm or cool gray? I’ll think about this…
And once you have a start with that–find it hard to add in brush work without clashing. What I’ll do, is let the impasto harden, and use glazes so you mostly don’t see the brush work.
very intriguing… I like it. it reminds me of the colours of a black opal Jacob!

the palette knife really suits this application of colour and paints!
